Flood or water damage service:
This type of disaster can lead to a heavy loss of images if not
handled promptly, correctly, and timely.
Our service washes them twice and rinses them in a photo
solution, dries them, and will replace the slide mount if
requested. The mounting is usually damaged or has to be removed to
thoroughly clean and destroy the potential for mold.
The charges for this service are:
Plastic Slide Mounts $ 0.22 each
Cleaning & Drying $ 36.00 per Hour (1 hour minimum charge)
Please call before shipping to us and get an estimate of the costs
involved for the total project and what precautions are necessary for shipping.
Archiving Slides or Photos:
The cost of a single slide, negative, or photo scanned and placed on a CD is $2.25
for the scan plus a one time setup charge of $ 10.00 and $4.95 for the CD. Shipping & Handling is extra.
Quantity price breaks for archiving is offered at 5, 20, and
50 or more scanned images; this is 10%, 15%, and 25% respectively. One CD is usually
sufficient to store 50 to 250 or more slides, negatives, or photos.
This service includes normal brightness, contrast, color, and
tint adjustments. If more than normal adjustments are needed and
the image needs
photo retouching or restoration, you will be contacted thereby
allowing you to decide if you wish to continue.
The DPI (dots per inch – resolution) will depend on several factors – B&W,
size, condition, etc. We can scan at a true 3200 DPI, but 99% of the
time that is not necessary or recommended. More is not always better. Any
scan of a slide or negative above 600dpi to 1200dpi and a photo above 300dpi to
600dpi will only produce a very grainy image. We would normally scan and save the
slide or negative at 600dpi, and photo at 300dpi to 400dpi, unless requested otherwise.
If requested, we will categorize the slides or photos in any order you wish i.e. year, date,
event, etc., and copy them to a CD.
We also provide a service to title the images. If you wish to title them there would be an
additional charge of $ 0.65 each. To accomplish this, number the photos or slides and supply a
separate typed page with the photo or slide reference number itemized and title you require for each item.
